How to "Spot" a Slide

To spot a slide, hold the slide in your left hand and orientate the slide to how you would like to see it projected (right way round and right way up).

Where you left thumb is on the slide (bottom left hand corner - see left picture above), draw a spot with a permenent marker pen (you can use an adhesive lable spot but these can sometimes jam the projector and come off).

Now turn the slide through 180 degrees and write your title to the left of the spot.

You should now have something like the picture on the right, your image is the right way around but upside down and the spot is on the top right and your title is readable. This is how your slide will be loaded in the projector.

If you get it wrong, we will all be able to see an upside down or back to front image, as the projectionist always loads the slides with the spot in the top right corner.

If you have something like the slide on the right, then well done, you have "spotted" your first slide.
